Rose Fragrance

Rose Fragrance is very popular and one of the most
widely used with manufacturers of bath and beauty products because it’s a scent that most people have at some time a memory or past connection with either as a flower or a scent.

The fragrance is extracted as oil from the rose petals and is referred to as rose otto which is distilled from the petal leaves by the use of steam and rose absolute uses a solvent extraction.
The two most commonly grown roses from which the fragrance is extracted are:-

Rosa damascene grown in Bulgaria, Russia, Turkey, Pakistan, India, Uzbekistan, Iran and China.

Rosa Centifolia the Cabbage rose is grown in Morocco, France and Egypt.

Most of the rose oil is produced in Bulgaria, Morocco, Iran and Turkey.
There are many common chemicals compounds present in rose oil, Rose Oxide being one chemical that is also produced industrially, Citronellol is found in the oils of Rose and Geranium.
The compounds that make up the scent of rose oil some of the main contributions comes from beta-damascenone, beta-ionone, and rose oxide which are considered when evaluating the quality of the product.
It is less than 1% of the total quantity yet these key compounds are responsible for 90% of the odour content.
The rose fragrance used in our bath and body products is rose otto, which is blended to give a superior product without the use of harmful substances.
